The following Notice is disclosed as a result of recently discovered fraudulent activity taking place (by non-Borough/non-Board Officials) in the general Land Use Board arena. Specifically, it has been reported that some computer hackers are improperly contacting Applicants (allegedly on behalf of the Borough/Board) and requesting Application fees/Escrow fees be wired to an alleged Borough account.

As indicated, the said activity is fraudulent, notwithstanding that some of the fake documents have a very official/legitimate look/presence. Please note that in conjunction with the review of Development Applications, the Borough of Interlaken/Interlaken Planning Board will not ask an Applicant to wire funds. Rather, Application fees and Escrow fees need to be mailed or otherwise hand-delivered to the Borough/Board, at the Interlaken Borough Hall 100 Grassmere Avenue, Interlaken, NJ address. Any questions should be forwarded to the Board Secretary, Gina Kneser, who can be contacted at [email protected] or at (732) 531-7405.
