The Grow & Show Garden Club of Interlaken
The Grow & Show Garden Club of Interlaken was federated in 1954 and continues “Growing Strong”
Our membership numbers 30 - 40 and includes second generation
members as well as members new to the area.
Club’s Objectives: To stimulate the acquisition of knowledge and love of gardening; To aid in the protection of native plants and birds; To encourage civic plantings and to raise funds to finance these objectives.
We are proud of our accomplishments which include the designing, planting and maintaining of seasonal flower beds on Interlaken grounds, the donation, design and maintenance, of the Blue Star Memorial By-Way Marker site, [a tribute to all men and women that serve in the Armed Forces of America] , the planting of hundreds of daffodils on borough grounds, and participating with the Garden Club of New Jersey in the holiday decorating of Drumthwacket. Annual fundraisers provide funds for these projects as well as for donations to the New Jersey Garden Club Scholarship Fund, the Natural Disaster Fund to help revive the public areas of our Garden State hit hard by natural disasters and donations to local charitable organizations.
If you are visiting this site because you are new to the area or are working in your garden wondering if there is a local group that shares your interests, then you’ve come to the right location. Joining the GSGC of Interlaken is a wonderful way to meet new people while learning or sharing gardening, environmental and floral design tips and just having fun.
We welcome you to visit one of our meetings, held on the second Wednesday of each month, September to June, except for December. We meet at Interlaken Borough Hall. Our business meetings start at Noon and are followed by a presentation from an expert speaker, hands-on workshop, or a demonstration. We welcome new residents, retirees, women, men, couples, and singles. You don’t have to be a resident of Interlaken to join the Club.
We are affiliate members of the National Garden Clubs, Inc.,
The Central Atlantic Region of National Garden Clubs.
