You may be interested to know that some work commonly thought of as maintenance does require permits from the Borough. Examples of this type of work are: roofing, siding, sheds, heat replacement or conversion, decks, cabanas and pools in addition to new structures such as barns, garages and additions.

It is important to know that most permits require at least two inspections for each inspector involved (i.e., building, plumbing, electric, fire). NJ State law N.J.A.C. 13:45 A-16.2 states that final inspections are required before final payment is made to contractors.

Permit applications can be obtained at the Construction Department at Borough Hall any Monday through Friday from 8:30 to 4:30. Most applications require a location of the new structure. Most questions on the permit procedure can be answered by the Construction Department Secretary, Lori Reibrich, or via email at constructionofficial@gmail.com .

If you have any Code Enforcement or Zoning questions, Mr. Vito Marinaccio is available at Borough Hall every Wednesday from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Our telephone number is 732-531-7405 and our FAX number is 732-531-7099. We have a very busy office, so if you get our voice mail, please leave a message, we will get back to you as soon as possible.
